Google Doodle… Huh?

It’s pretty amazing, that just leaving the office one day, a simple procedure can, in fact, last over a decade. Imagine Google founders leaving the office in the early days for “the burning man festival” and created something that is now, in fact, iconic, quite accidentally. This is the Google Doodle.

Google has broken ground just about everywhere it has gone and with everything, it has developed. The Google Doodle is just another example and for those of you who don’t know what a Google Doodle is, well here is Wikipedia’s response: Google Doodle

Even more amazing, this little gesture ended up giving Dennis Hwang a full time gig for over a decade now, and apparently, for those in the know, Dennis is now a YouTube sensation, click here to see Dennis Hwang in action. It’s a pretty good and interesting video, giving some insights into exactly how much work, time and effort go into this Google tradition. Keep in mind this doodle thing is prepared just to keep us interested and entertained.

• One of our favourites at Raven5, and yes you know we love the penguins,  is Holiday 2002 doodle.
• Google isn’t afraid to make a statement and this year’s (2012) International Womens Day doodle has had some real impact, and certainly graphically interesting. Google claims it’s a “simple and really nice doodle“.
• Even the Muppets have got themselves involved in this tribute to Jim Henson. You gotta wonder what Miss Piggy had to say about this? Did the Cookie Monster get interviewed? One has to wonder?
• Google also has an contest for students in the United States, if you want to know more check out Doodle4Google. Seems to me that Google never misses the chance to engage you and I in their endeavor to be more than just a business. Remember this is from the company that has a corporate philosophy (point 6 of 10) says “You can make money without doing evil“.
