If you are our customer, you can actually check the status of the domain transfer after receiving an email notification.
Sometimes, a domain transfer goes the way we don’t want it to go. Every webpage that does domain transfers have different statuses, but read below for the generalized domain statuses:
- Locked Domain: Your domain is still registered with your current registrar. After you’ve unlocked your domain, you’ll need to restart your transfer.
- Missing authorization code: The authorization code for your migrated domain is missing. You’ll need to obtain an authentication code from your current registrar and enter it into your account.
- Invalid authentication code: The authorisation code you used to transfer your domain is not valid. Check with your current registrar for the correct auth code, then update it in your account.
- Unverified Registrant Eligibility: Some domains have additional registration and transfer eligibility restrictions.
- Registry Lock: Your domain’s registry has been locked. After your current registrar reviews the lock and removes it, you can resume the transfer in your account.
- Denied Transfer: Your existing registrar has declined your request for a transfer. Check with them to see if there are any concerns, and then restart the transfer once everything is in order.
- Unknown Error: We’re experiencing problems transferring your domain because of an unknown error.
- 60-day Lock: Your domain appears to have been registered or transferred within the last 60 days. Within 60 days of those events, ICANN prohibits registrar transfers. When the 60-day restriction is released, we’ll complete your transfer automatically.
- Currently Under Progress: Your domain transfer is proceeding normally and should take 5-7 days to complete.
- Complete: Your domain is now complete.
- Canceled: Your domain transfer has been cancelled, however you can initiate a fresh transfer at any moment if you change your mind.
- Expired: Due to inactivity, your domain transfer has expired.
