What Are We Doing Online?
There is lots of information online these days, and North Americans are significant users of the Internet. The estimates regarding the amount of leisure time spent online is approx 30% for North Americans. Canada and the US are almost identical in their usage.
But what are we doing online?
So, one might ask, with approximately one-third of our “free time” spent online what exactly are we doing online? According to the CMA (Canadian Marketing Association), the following list is how we are spending our online time.
- Searching Content 81%
- Reading News 76%
- Online Banking 74%
- Weather 65%
- Research Products/Services 63%
- Video Clips 51%
- Music Downloads 37%
- Social Networking Sites 33%
- Adult Content 19%
- Podcast Downloads 8%
Given that the average Canadian has approximately five and one-half (5 ½) hours of free time daily (according to the Government of Canada), this accounts for almost 2 hours daily online. Huge numbers, and a reason to get your brand and your company out there … where your customers are, your digital agency can assist.
Isn’t it time you considered assisting your customers by providing content, information, and research. Apparently, that’s what your customers are looking for online.
