Social Media – Things To Avoid
Common Social Media Mistakes – Not So Common?
As you progress through the land of change and transition of social media, as your Digital Agency, we recommend you take note of a few things to avoid.
I know it’s hard, you just want to get out there and blast your message, but that’s not the game. Social media is a conversation and there are a number of things that we recommend, which will make your journey in social media a little easier. You can find the list of things to do, here.
On the other hand, there are some basic things to avoid, keep in mind, one click and you’re gone, so, remember your manners. Here are a few pointers of things to avoid.
Common Social Media Mistakes:
- Avoid rants about current events (we’ve all got our pet peeves)
- Keep your posts either personal or business (don’t mix on the same post)
- Don’t blast your messages (it’s a conversation)
- Avoid cross postings (same content on different channels)
- Avoid negative posts (positive posts are far better)
- Don’t ignore comments and replies (make sure you respond)
- Don’t let your account become dormant (keep the conversation going)
Mistakes are OK, in fact they are quite acceptable, but be prepared for some criticism. You can’t expect to drive down this road without a few bumps. Just remember to be yourself, speak (post) clearly, and keep it positive. Avoiding these potholes will ensure that you have a good, positive and safe social media journey.
