Amazon Influencer Program

The Amazon Influencer Program was created in 2017, building on Amazon’s Affiliate Program. To join Amazon’s Affiliate Program, you only need to hold an active website with relevant content to link back to. The Affiliate program was designed to reward those that are willing to advertise Amazon’s products on their behalf, by providing a commission when someone makes a purchase on Amazon by clicking the ad on your website. Affiliates are not allowed to share a storefront link anywhere aside from their website, breaking this rule could result in being banned from the program.

The Amazon Influencer Program works in a similar fashion, but is more exclusive. Here you’ll find a basic overview of the program:

  • As part of the Amazon Influencer program, a user provides a link back to their storefront where all recommended items are listed. Influencers recommend products and get rewarded once someone makes a purchase through the storefront.
  • Users can be personally invited by Amazon or you can see if you qualify online.
    • Apply by sending in your social media account with the most followers
    • Use your YouTube, Instagram, Facebook or Twitter account
    • Amazon looks at the # of followers and engagement metrics of social presence
    • Real-time approval if applying with a YouTube or Twitter account; could take up to 5 days if applying with an Instagram or Facebook account
  • Once accepted, receive a custom URL and create your custom storefront recommending Amazon products.
  • Earn a commission on qualifying purchases. Commission rates range from 1% to 10%, depending on the products purchased:
    • 10% for private label
    • 8% for furniture
    • 6% for headphones and beauty
    • 1% video consoles / games
    • Every other product falls somewhere in between the 1% – 10% range.
  • Payments to influencers can be direct deposit, Amazon gift card or check
    • you can only cash out after you’ve earned $10.00 USD
    • To avoid the minimum amount to cash out or cashing an international check, sign up with Payoneer. Amazon will transfer commissions through Payoneer to withdraw to your local back account. It’s free to sign up!
  • Bounties / Referrals: In addition to earning a commission on qualifying purchases, influencers can earn additional money for the following:
    • Each person an influencer entices to sign up to business account earns $15
    • Each trial sign-up to Twitch Prime and Amazon earns $3
    • These are referred to as Bounties
  • Sales Performance Tracking
    • Amazon tracks everyone that accesses Amazon from your store
    • Provides a breakdown of how much you’ve earned from each avenue
    • Influencers have the ability to download sales reports
