5 LinkedIn Profile Tips

Is your LinkedIn profile lacking? Are you looking to make your LinkedIn profile more attractive to recruiters? Ogilvy shares an infographic outlining 5 LinkedIn Profile Tips to make your LinkedIn profile irresistible. Here is a simplified version of the infographic:

  1. Include keywords in your profile. SEO is a key element of your LinkedIn profile. Add keywords associated with your skills to help highlight what potential employers might be searching for.  For example: ‘social media manager’ or ‘website designer’. Make sure these keywords are scattered organically throughout your profile.
  2. Who do you want to be seen as?  What is your personal brand all about? Make sure your headline and personal tag give an accurate representation of who you are, and ensure that you support your personal brand across your profile and resume.
  3. Tell us your story. Find a way to explain how you got where you are today in a way that makes you look interesting and motivated.
  4. Use a professional profile photo. Cover photos send a strong message about who you are. Make sure to use a professional looking photo to compliment your profile. Avoid casual photos as a casual photo can make you look unprofessional.
  5. Use your personal profile link. Everyone has a unique link to share their profile, and utilizing this can help strengthen your personal brand and professional status.

If your LinkedIn profile does not currently utilize these 5 tips, it’s time for an update.
