I recently came across a great article by Jasmine Henry on Slideshare called “10 Ways to Boost Your Inbound Marketing Strategy in an hour or less”. The article gives some great tips to help small businesses improve their inbound marketing strategy.
Although these are all great tips, there are a few key points I’d like to focus on:
- Bump up your blog posting. If you didn’t already know, blog posting frequency and traffic are positively correlated. For small to medium sized businesses, blogging yields 55% more traffic. The more content your blog has, the more effective it will be. We recommend that you post to your blog at least 3 times a week, as this is a simple and easy way to boost inbound marketing. More blogs = more leads.
- Guest Blogging. Have guest bloggers write for your blog to give it more depth and attract a completely new audience. I came across an article called “10 Major Benefits of Guest Blogging” by Bamidele Onibalusi which outlines what guest blogging can do for you. Guest blogging advantages include but are not limited to: generating quality traffic, building domain and search engine authority, building your portfolio and credibility, and building your subscriber base.
- Schedule Social Media Posts. Scheduling social media posting can help with time management, content planning, and prime time placement. If you aren’t already using a tool to help schedule posts, there’s no better time to start. TweetDeck, HootSuite, HubSpot, or any scheduling tool will save you tons of time and effort and make your social media posting simple and easy.
- Keyword optimize your blog content. Probably the easiest and fastest way to boost your search engine referrals is to ensure that ALL of your blog content is optimized for SEO. This means optimizing titles, meta data, ALT text and pictures. Even old content can continue to bring in organic search traffic, it’s worth your time to go through it and optimize the content.
Remember, inbound marketing is all about being found. The keys to inbound marketing are simple: Content and SEO. If Google can’t find you, nobody will!
